The founder of LA REO Solutions is Claudine "Coco" Clayman-Cook. A native Los Angeleno licensed to practice real estate since 1988, Coco lived through the great highs of the llate 1980's to the adjustment of the market in the early 1990's.

Always up on the latest real estate news and what's going on, Coco recognized a need for a niche real estate company that specialized in the marketing and selling of REO properties in the Los Angeles area.

"There's a new window of opportunity that's arisen - and smart buyers and investors are going to have many great opportunities available to them" according to Clayman-Cook.

At the same time, Clayman-Cook wanted to provide a web site that also had a place for buyers and sellers. Many buyers do not realize that if a property says the word foreclosure or the intials REO it does not mean they can offer fifty cents on the dollar for the property. It also does not mean that it might be the best deal for them. Sellers in turn need assistance and truthful information if they are in danger of losing their properties. Clayman-Cook watched her successful real estate business come to a screeching hault in the early 1990's when all of her clients were real estate developers and knows the pain of losing her home. For Clayman-Cook, the real estate business is about providing a service to her clients, lenders, buyers, and sellers.

The current real estate marketplace, the rising notices of default across the country and the changes in the mortgage lending industry prompted Clayman-Cook to also create a section on this site for sellers that are in danger of losing their properties and may be afraid to ask those around them for help.

"I've found a way I can give back.  I know how frightening and disappointing it is to lose one's home. When I grew up it had always been my dream to own my own home. And when I lost it I was devasted. I was embarrassed that I as a real estate professional would find myself in this situation. Most of the real estate agents that were new to the business like I was were lliving "leased lives" and no one wanted to admit that they were not prepared.
